Churches Lag in Tech Adoption

In this clip from Disrupting Sunday, Jorge Suitor traces a pattern the church can no longer ignore: major technological breakthroughs often reshape culture long before the church fully responds to them.

He points to several historic examples — the rise of written language, the connectivity of Roman roads, the Gutenberg press making Scripture more accessible, and the internet creating a new digital front door. In each case, technology changed the landscape, and the church was often slower than it should have been to adapt.

Jorge argues that AI now stands at the center of all of those forces. It affects communication, access, scale, connection, and the way people engage truth. His warning is clear: if the church continues its pattern of delayed adoption, it may once again find itself behind a cultural shift that is already reshaping the world.
